MMH x Goodenough College

Dalia El Ariny acted as Dean's Special Advisor at Goodenough College from September 2023 to May 2024. She was responsible for facilitating panels, retreats, and discussion groups where people from different religious backgrounds could speak honestly and openly with one another.

Dalia has built an ongoing relationship with Goodenough College through its Interfaith Week programme, engaging both as an organiser and as a speaker. As one of the Dean's interfaith advisors, she co-organised Interfaith Week 2023, featuring a dinner with traditional dishes from Jewish, Islamic, Christian, Buddhist and Hindu traditions, alongside a round-table discussion exploring how members draw on faith and religion to cope with everyday stress and anxiety.

She has also spoken at the college directly presenting MyMixedHeritage and sharing her personal experience as an "interfaith kid." She also contributes to All in Good Faith — A Ceremony of Inter-Faith Welcome, a college's annual event. There, she focused on the religious ambiguity she experienced growing up in an interfaith family, and on its value as a catalyst for curiosity and genuine conversation across religions and faiths.

MyMixedHeritage is an online project providing a space for interfaith families and individuals, based in the UK. We are not a registered group, nor a charity. We are in the process of drafting our constitution so that we can call ourselves a proper (unincorporated) community group!
