When everyone of my friends already in a doctoral programme told me that the PhD would have been the most difficult thing of my life, I didn’t believe them. I thought they were just being a little dramatic. Let me tell you, they were not.

My mum and I watched Christmas as Usual, a Netflix production which tells the story of Jashan and Thea, an intercultural couple. Let me tell you, we were not impressed.

Being mixed goes hand in hand with travelling or better, it goes hand in hand with thoughts, hope, wish and desire of travelling to be able to see your loved ones.
